We’re expecting our third this winter! As my second baby was born in January of 2024, I feel as though I’m much more prepared for a mid-winter birth this time around. More info on a winter newborn coming soon! Now that I’m well into the second trimester, I can look back at how I survived the first trimester while caring for my other two small ones nonstop. Here are a few of my favorite pregnancy items for any expecting people in your life:
The classic belly oil by trusted Waldorf-approved and founded brand Weleda - this oil is truly lovely and just smells like herbs and goodness. In my experience, you can go through anywhere from one to three bottles of the stuff over a pregnancy depending on how much you use!
Alongside whichever prenatal, I like to take some of this easy-to-swallow choline on the side (ask your Dr. of course!)
Ginger chews to stave off that “morning nausea” that sometimes can last all day for … months
Mint tea - I brew large mason jars of weak tea with honey to pop in the fridge and add ice to when I need something that doesn’t taste like plain water
These specific Tums, for me, are the only ones that don’t induce gagging
After the second trimester I have found a belly band situation to help lighten the load, this one is economical and straightforward!
This over-sized tee is cute and I have it in two colors! Cute over jeans with a jacket or over leggings too.
These inexpensive maternity tops 3-pack are easy, comfy and you can throw them in the dryer on high and not worry. Great under a blazer or a sweater!
Free People has some really great matching sets that would work through pregnancy and post parting nicely - Hotshot Set and the Hotshot Recovery Set - I got a size up to be comfy while pregnant, and as the brand can tend to have some more cropped tops I wanted it to fit the basketball on my front…
Beyond yoga has some great maternity leggings that I wear a couple of times a week. They have a pocket on the side which is convenient, and a nice over the bump flap that can be folded down until second trimester or so when you can flip it up.
BB Hug me Pregnancy Pillow - I’ve had this for two and a half years since my baby was born and it’s worth the investment! Great for pregnancy and for nursing / propping baby up when you’re with them, and it looks nice on the bed as well in stylish colors.
